“I would never harm you. You know that, don’t you? I want to look after you and our baby. It’s a big thing. The child will need my protection, and so do you.”

“I-I—”

“There are rules now that you have entered my world.”

“If you say so.”

“You fear what’s ahead of you?”

“Yes, but this isn’t what alarms me the most.
